Chicago is a city that's full of life and energy, even on a rainy morning. And that's exactly what made it the perfect backdrop for a recent couples session that I had the pleasure of documenting. We embraced the rain, explored the city's famous Riverwalk and even made our way to the iconic Chicago Theater for some truly intimate and cozy shots. The rain never bothered me anyway ;)
From there, we made our way to the Riverwalk, where we captured some truly stunning shots of the couple walking hand in hand and taking in the beautiful views of the city. The rain had made the morning in the city seem so quiet and the couple's love for each other was evident in every shot.
Next, we made our way to the Chicago Theater, where we took some truly breathtaking photos. The theater's iconic marquee made for the perfect backdrop, and the couple's love for each other was truly palpable in every shot. The clear picture perfect umbrellas really made the session a whole rainy day vibe. I was in awe, I romanticized the entire trip.
Throughout the session, Jenna and Nick were so much fun to work with. They were both willing to try anything, even if it meant getting a little wet, and their love for each other was radiating. We laughed, danced, even skipped and explored the city together, creating some truly beautiful moments that I was honored to capture. It truly felt like I was documenting a love story, just like in the movies.
In the end, the rain only added to the intimacy and coziness of the shoot. Jenna and Nick's love for each other shone through in every photo, and I was so grateful to have been able to document their love for each other.
If you're ever in Chicago on a rainy morning, don't be afraid to embrace the weather. You never know what kind of magic you might create! This city truly resonates a lot of nostalgia for my business, my last trip out there was right before the world shut down for covid, which so happened to also be right when I finally decided to take the leap and want to take my photography and turn it into my own business. Now three short (long) years later I cannot believe I was finally documenting couples session and a wedding in my favorite city. It rained almost the entire time, but I loved every moment and I loved working with each couple. Now to plan my next trip to the windy city - stay tuned!
